I think this is the worry. Most cannot cope with a discussion about Net Zero or 15-minute cities. They are indifferent. I am beginning to suspect most simply dislike thinking. They want it to be someone else's problem.

Apathy, laziness of mind and body, an unwillingness to engage in anything uncomfortable, disbelief that their government would work against them ... It's a long list of why people don't engage with the issues that shape their lives. Some would welcome the 15-minute city and live within the confines of the herd, like animals penned in by the thin wires of an electric fence. Net zero is an eco-loon's wet dream. Total, destructive nonsense in response to junk 'science' easily refuted if scientists were allowed to publish contradictory data. But of course, grotesquely lucrative for some.

You are absolutely correct. I find it increasingly difficult to talk to people about these issues. Which is another thing, distraction. The reaction to the stress of it is to immerse in social media or TV, to blot it out. Fingers in ears, shouting la, la, la. I find that frustrating.
